Guidelines for functionalization of hydrogels
This guideline describes how to functionalize hydrogels with full-length Biolaminin to create biomimetic 3D environments that support cell adhesion, proliferation, and enhanced functionality. Two approaches are outlined: embedding Biolaminin during gel formation or coating the hydrogel surface post-gelation.
What’s inside
- Step-by-step protocols for preparing hydrogel precursors (e.g. PEG, alginate, GelMA, collagen, hyaluronic acid) and incorporating Biolaminin
- Two functionalization strategies: Biolaminin-embedded hydrogels and post-gelation surface coating
- Recommended Biolaminin concentrations and crosslinking considerations to preserve laminin functionality
- Key handling and compatibility guidance, including sterility, pH/temperature conditions, UV exposure limits, and sodium azide considerations
